
Senior Advisor, Emerging Customer Solutions – FortisAlberta
Leanne is a solutions-oriented problem solver with over 15 years’ experience in stakeholder relations and customer service, working across interdisciplinary teams to facilitate customer solutions.
Leanne has spent most of her career in regulated utilities on both the transmission and distribution systems in Alberta’s deregulated electricity market. Her roles spanned from working with customers and communities across rural Alberta on new transmission projects to supporting large industrial customers connected to the electricity system including renewable generators, petrochemicals, refineries, fertilizers, oil and gas processing, manufacturing, and pipeline companies. She also supported customers through the Alberta Electric System Operator connection process for new oil and gas, wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
Leanne has led many customer-focused solutions that has improved customer satisfaction and advanced an organization’s customer culture. In her role at FortisAlberta as Senior Advisor, Emerging Customer Solutions, Leanne is focused on emerging technologies that will support customers with new emerging solutions such as non-wires solutions and demand
side management.
Leanne holds a Bachelor of Commerce (co-op) and Bachelor of Arts from Memorial University and has completed certifications in International Association of Public Participation (IAP2), public relations, conflict resolution, key account management, and public policy and governance. Leanne also chaired Electricity Canada’s Key Accounts Working Group from 2020 to 2021.
